Training

In Scouting no adult is expected to undertake any role without some induction training and support. All adults have to learn about the basics of Scouting, safety, safeguarding, GDPR, and other topics specific to their role, such as how to be an efficient trustee.

Leaders need more skills, such as first aid, working with adults, planning programmes, understanding young people, etc., so their training is gained through a series of modules delivered locally, online, via Zoom or at County venues. Each leader gathers evidence through working with their section which they can then use to validate their learning. On final completion, they are awarded a Wood Badge as a sign of competency.
