1st Castleberg Scout Group is a Registered Charity, Charity Number: 1086093, which was established in 1910. The Scout Group comprises a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout Troop. The South Ingleborough Explorer Scout Unit has a partnership agreement with the Group so its members and leaders work closely with the Sections.
The Scout Group is based in the Drill Hall, a Scout owned premises, located on Castlebergh Lane in central Settle. It offers a hall the size of a badminton court, a balcony meeting area and modern fully fitted kitchen and toilets, one of which has disables access.
Hire rates are £15 per session, that being a morning, afternoon or an evening. Access into the building is up stone steps, so the Group is currently fund raising to provide an extension with disabled access.
