Thank You Day
National Thank You Day, on Sunday, 4th July, gave the District Team a perfect opportunity to thank our amazing volunteers for their outstanding work during the pandemic. Unfortunately, although we would have liked to thank all our supporters in person, Covid restrictions severely limit the numbers of people who could gather together. However, to mark the day, a small representative group of key volunteers were invited to a Thank You BBQ.
After a brief welcome by Dick Chalmers, the District Chairman, Norman Dray, long serving supporter of 40 years, officially opened the newly refurbished Kit Store. District Commissioner, Cathy Tazzyman, then presented six volunteers who had given their time to help with the project with a gift and a hand-crafted stave made by Carl Unsworth. Fruit punch, burgers, buns and salad were then enjoyed by all but, sadly, torrential rain cut short the proceeding. However, being Scouters, everyone mucked in and fun was had by all.
