Remembrance Sunday
Remembrance Sunday in Ingleton
The involvement of young people at this time is vitally important to teach them about the horrors of conflict and the preciousness of the peace. Though they have always attended the church service, this year, for the first time in a decade, headed by their Colour Parties, youth and adult members of Ingleton Scout Group marched from the Community Centre to St Mary’s Church for the Service of Remembrance.
During the service, along with others in the community, they processed to the War Memorial for the 2-minute Silence to mark the courage and sacrifice of those who have served the country in past conflicts. Three Cubs then laid a wreath in memory of the fallen before the congregation returned to church for the rest of the service.
