New Lamps for Old

Settle Drill Hall has gained a new lamp, made from scratch by the members at Settle Hack Space, an informal community group where people with common interests in technology and computers can meet, socialise and collaborate on projects.

Whilst it’s a traditional shape, the top has been 3-D printed in plastic, the gas mantles have been reproduced using LED car bulbs mounted on copper and there’s no need for the services of a lamplighter as a solid-state controller will automatically switch the light on at sunset and off at sunrise. A very smart addition to the Drill Hall!
