Fun and Smiles Ingleton AGM
What a buzz there was in Mealbank Hall at the Ingleton Scout Group AGM this year! Having heard that the Group had had a successful year despite all the difficulties of Covid, after the formal proceedings, pleas for help from the District Commissioner and a leader resulted in a pleasing number of parents stepping forward to join the executive committee or become Occasional Helpers.

There were also smiles all round when several youngsters were congratulated for their hard work. Three Young Leaders gained a Module badge and certificate and a Scout moving up to Explorers gained the well-earned and prestigious Chief Scout’s Gold Award. Finally, a hand crafted staff and certificate were award to the Scout who had been to the friendliest and most helpful troop member during the year, with certificates also presented to the second and third place winners. Cubs and Beavers then told the audience what they liked best about their Scouting activities. After refreshments, served with homemade cakes, the Scouts demonstrated to their parents how to light a fire and toast marshmallows, and encouraged them to join in ’Singing in the Rain’, a lively campfire song, which was enjoyed by all.
