Cubs Go Exploring Underground
Ingleton Cubs headed for Ribblehead one evening to meet the County Caving Team for an adventure through Runscar and Thistle. Helmets and kneepads adjusted, fiddled with and roughly where they should be, they were off following the river upstream into the darkness…
They went down passages with different Cubs leading the group, and crawling along ‘fun’ passages! One of these passages also had a slide into a big pool which all the Cubs enjoyed, so much so they went back and did it again! As they left the final part of the cave, they had to do an army crawl to finish. Tom Haigh was bringing up the rear which meant that on the exit several wellies were emptied on his head… a good lesson there, never be the last one out! All in all, a good trip and an excellent end to the term.
