Ingleborough District has three Explorer Units for 14 – 18-year-old girls and boys.

The North Ingleborough Explorer Unit (NIESU) has a partnership agreement with Ingleton Scout Group and is based in Ingleton. Members meet in Mealbank Hall in Mealbank Quarry, off Oddies Lane.

The South Ingleborough Explorer Unit (SIESU) has a partnership agreement with 1st Castleberg Scout Group and is based in Settle. Members meet in the Drill Hall on Castleberg Lane.

The third Unit is a Young Leader Unit which brings together teenager who want to help the sectional leadership teams in Ingleton and Settle. Young Leaders sometimes use their volunteering time for the service section of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme but others take part simply because they enjoy helping younger members. Several go on to become adult leaders when they are 18.
