Networking in North Craven

With two key targets of inclusion and belonging, the aim was that all delegates present, such as members of U3A, WI, Dementia Friends, AgeUK, etc., would leave the workshop with a better knowledge of other groups, clubs and activities that are organised within North Craven. As a result, those present could share their knowledge in order to promote neighbourliness, as well as combatting loneliness and mental health issues. The aim therefore fits in well with the Scouting’s objectives of inclusion and community, including projects such as A Million Hands.
Interest in Scouting was shown by Bentham Bowling Club; the Ingleton and Settle Library Service which can offer support with the Reader badge; Bentham Rail Transport Group which can help with the Cub Personal Safety badge; and a new volunteer came forward, too. Most importantly, by attending the session, Scouting was seen to be active in the community and we, along with 224 other local organisations, are now included in the North Craven Directory which is distributed in paper format, as well as online at Craven Compass Hub.
