SIESU Rabbits 1

District Instructor, Jo Wulf, marvelled at Alex Toothill’s deft knife skills as he demonstrated to the South Ingleborough Explorer Scouts how to gut and skin a rabbit.

She continued, “Then it was our turn. Most of us were out of our comfort zone, but isn’t that what Scouting is all about? We also filleted a pollock that James caught especially for us. Dan showed us how to do that with fingers and thumbs rather than a knife. Great survival skills, I’d say. Then it was time to cook it and both the fish and the rabbit tasted great!

Well done, Explorers! Thank you, Alex, for leading a session we won’t forget for a while!”
