Record numbers of visitors supported Settle Scouts’ fund-raising Table Top Sale which they held in their Drill Hall on Castlebergh Lane. Stallholders from throughout the community sold a vast range of handcrafted jewellery, knitwear, cosmetics, books, garden supplies, cards, preserves, confectionary, as well as nearly new items. The Scout Group’s bric-a-brac stall made a healthy profit from donations, and raffle ticket sales soared once youth members started touring the hall in search of willing customers. A huge array of homemade cakes tempted many visitors to enjoy a drink and refreshments which were served in the café area by a team of dedicated supporters.

At the end of the sale, all the hard work of the small team of executive committee members, headed by Group Chairman, Cherry Flitcroft, was rewarded with a profit of over £450. This amazing sum will go towards the Drill Hall refurbishment, as well as activities for the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Grateful thanks go to everyone who supported this event. Refreshments P1000822
