Rain and drizzle throughout the day didn’t put off the hardy Ingleton Scouters who ran a stall at Ingleton Gala. The smell of sizzling bacon wafted from the Ingleton Group tent, while ping-pong balls bounced around the District publicity stall. A welcome £115 was made from the refreshments but the goodwill gained by supporting the community, plus the publicity value, were also valuable.

Having worked hard from early in the morning, the huge entry of Scout leaders into the Egg Throwing Competition at the end of the day was a spectacle not to be missed! Fun over, then came the daunting task of striking and drying soggy tents and resources but, in true Scouting style, everyone got stuck in and completed the task without so much as a moan!
