Sleepover Success
30 May 2017

“Wow!” That’s how the Ingleton Beavers summed up their sleepover! The fun began at Mealbank Hall when the Beavers arrived, complete with sleeping bags, and set about making their own packed lunches. A walk to the park was next on the programme, where playtime and lunch were enjoyed by all. For the afternoon, the Colony was split into two groups, one to tackle bouldering on the Inglesport climbing wall, and one to enjoy the fresh air around Storrs Common doing tracking and art with natural materials.

This was followed by a return to Mealbank Hall where the Scout leaders were called in to supervise the Beavers while they toasted marshmallows on small fires. Not surprisingly, this proved to be very popular, and decidedly sticky!

After their burger and chips tea, the Beavers changed into their PJs and snuggled down to watch a DVD before going to bed in a tent they had helped to pitch indoors! As day dawned, sleepy Beavers turned into lively youngsters ready to tell their parents all about their adventures. Well done Gemma and her team – splendid Scouting! There are lots more photos to view on the District’s Facebook page.
