Scouts Remember the Fallen
Both Ingleton and Settle Scout Groups were well represented when Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, leaders and supporters took part in Remembrance Day Services in their respective villages. Before the ceremonies, many Leaders had run activities to explain the significance of the annual services to their young people so that they could appreciate the meaning they have for people who have lost family members in battle, both in the past and present day.
During the services, Colours were paraded and wreaths laid on behalf of the Scout Association by youth members whose contribution was much appreciated, especially by the older members of the local communities. Many members of the public commented on how good it is to see the Scout Movement involved on these occasions, and the youngsters were thanked for their excellent behaviour – what a compliment to all our young people and their leaders.
